What Multnomah Coffee Club does
Multnomah Coffee Club is an Oregon coffee subscription. Every box brings a 12 oz bag from a different independent Oregon roaster, roasted to order and shipped in the roaster's own bag with our packing slip. First bag free. Then $16.99 a bag, every 2 or 4 weeks, and you can skip, pause or cancel online.
We do one state and only one. Every bag is roasted in Oregon.
Why Oregon
Oregon has 213 independent coffee roasters by the count of the Roast Local directory (September 2026). They are not all in Portland. Sisters Coffee has roasted in the town of Sisters since 1989. Noble roasts in Ashland's Railroad District. Wandering Goat roasts in Eugene, Caravan in Newberg, Dapper & Wise in downtown Hillsboro, and Sleepy Monk on the edge of Cannon Beach. Bend alone has Backporch, Lone Pine and Thump.
Most of us know the roaster down the street and not much past it. A club that moves through the state box by box gets you to the rest.
Who picks the coffee
Joe McRose picks the coffees and writes the roaster pages on this site. He reads each roaster's own pages, checks that they still roast in Oregon, and writes what he finds in plain words, with the date he checked it. How that works is set out on how we choose roasters.
No roaster pays to be listed on this site, and no roaster is a partner of the club.
The name
The club shares its name with Multnomah Falls. Year one follows twelve Columbia River Gorge waterfalls from shortest to tallest, box by box, starting at Fairy Falls. Multnomah Falls is box twelve, the last and tallest stop.
Why we care that it is local
When you buy from an Oregon roaster, the roasting, packing and cafe jobs stay here. Roseline's roasting, packaging and distribution jobs are at its Portland roastery. Thump in Bend funds a Central Oregon lacrosse program and hosts running groups from its cafes. Nossa Familia has run the p:ear Barista School for homeless and transitional youth since 2013. The roasters named on this site are local favorites we list. A listing does not mean a roaster is part of the club.
