Atlas Coffee Club suits someone who wants to taste the world one country at a time: each month brings a single-origin coffee from a new coffee-growing country, roasted by Atlas, with flavor notes, a postcard and a page of coffee history. Multnomah Coffee Club suits someone who wants to taste Oregon one roaster at a time: each box brings a 12 oz bag from a different independent Oregon roaster, shipped by that roaster. Atlas changes the farm country. We change the roaster, and every roaster is here in Oregon. Our club publishes this page; the facts below are there so you can choose either one with your eyes open.

Where Atlas is stronger
The world tour. No Oregon club can hand you a coffee from a new country every month with a postcard from that country and a short history lesson in the box. If the draw for you is learning where coffee grows, Atlas is built for exactly that, and it does it with a consistent single-origin format.
Size and format choices. Atlas offers a 6 oz bag for light drinkers, multi-bag plans, a Smooth and Balanced tier and a Bright and Expressive tier, and pods alongside whole bean and ground coffee. We sell one bag size, 12 oz, in whole bean or ground.
Sourcing it publishes. Atlas says it pays the farmers it buys from above fair-trade prices and gives two Nicaraguan farms advance payment so they avoid high-interest loans. It also ships to Canada, which we do not.
Ready-made gift sets. Atlas sells boxed gifts with free U.S. shipping, such as a Four-Coffee Gift of four 4 oz coffees from Nepal, the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Laos, and a coffee and chocolate set pairing six small bags with chocolate bars. If you want a one-off present that arrives complete, that format is easy to give. Our gifts are prepaid runs of 3, 6 or 12 boxes instead.
Where we differ
Many roasters, one state. Atlas is one roaster. Our boxes rotate across independent Oregon roasters: the ones we list roast in Portland, Hillsboro, Newberg, Eugene, Ashland, Bend, Sisters and Cannon Beach. Each bag is a purchase from a small Oregon business, which keeps roasting jobs, cafe jobs and the money that pays them in this state. More on that on why local roasters matter.
The roaster's own bag. The coffee arrives in the roaster's bag and packaging, not ours, with our packing slip naming the roaster, their shop and what to taste for. If you like it, you know exactly whose door to walk into next time you are in Bend, Eugene or Portland.
One price. Every bag is $16.99, any roast level or style. First bag free, you pay $7.99 shipping. A box can carry two bags, and the second bag can have its own roast and style, from a second roaster.
You pick the roast. Atlas picks the country; you pick light, medium, dark or a mix, and single origin, blend, espresso or decaf. Every box carries our four promises: "Roasted and shipped within 3 days." "Free replacement if a bag disappoints." "A reminder email 3 days before each box." "Your ratings steer the next bag."

Which is better, Atlas or Trade?
It depends on what you want to discover: Atlas brings one coffee from a new country each month, and Trade matches you to coffees from 55+ roasters around the U.S.
Who roasts Atlas Coffee Club's coffee?
Atlas roasts its own coffee in small batches, according to its site. Our club sends coffee roasted by independent Oregon roasters, a different one each box.
Can I buy Atlas coffee without a subscription?
Its FAQ says it does not sell one-time purchases of its coffee, only subscriptions you can pause, skip or cancel. Our club is also a subscription you can skip, pause or cancel online, and our gifts are fixed 3, 6 or 12 box bundles.
Does Atlas Coffee Club have a free trial?
On 2026-09-27 its site showed a "First bag free with subscription" banner for a National Coffee Day sale, alongside other offers. Ours is always the same: first bag free, you pay $7.99 shipping.
Is Atlas the same bag size as yours?
Yes, both send 12 oz bags; Atlas also sells a 6 oz size.
