Trade Coffee review: who each one suits

Trade Coffee suits a drinker who wants range: a quiz matches you to coffees from 55+ roasters across the U.S., with 500+ coffees in rotation, and a ratings loop that tunes each match. Multnomah Coffee Club suits a drinker in or from Oregon who wants every bag to come from an independent Oregon roaster, a different one each box, in a full 12 oz bag. If the map matters to you, pick us. If the widest menu matters more, pick Trade. Both are honest ways to find new roasters, and this page, published by our club, lays out the facts so you can decide. Where Trade is stronger
Range is the plain one. Trade lists 500+ coffees in rotation from 55+ roasters, and a Signature tier that opens its widest selection. We list Oregon roasters only, so if you want Sightglass one month and PERC the next, two of the roasters named on Trade's home page, Trade does that and we do not.
Matching is its core. Trade says its coffees are cupped by Q graders, scored and sorted, and that every rating you give helps the next match. It also promises to send another bag, free, if your first one is not right. Our quiz and ratings steer the next bag too, but Trade's home page counts 13M+ matches made, a scale we cannot claim.
The trial is generous. The Discovery Trial sends three bags from three roasters with the first bag free and free shipping, and you can swap, pause or cancel during it. Trade also sells a 32 oz big bag, and ships to all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Where we differ
One state's roasters. Every Multnomah bag comes from an independent roaster that roasts in Oregon: the ones we list are in Portland, Bend, Sisters, Eugene, Ashland, Newberg, Hillsboro and Cannon Beach. None of the Oregon roasters we list was named on the Trade pages we read. For a reader who wants the money to land at an Oregon roastery, and the jobs that come with it, that is the whole point. A full 12 oz bag. Our bag is 12 oz at $16.99. Trade's standard bag is 10.93 oz at $16.99 on Essential or $21.99 on Signature.
First bag free, then a box that can hold two roasters. You pay $7.99 shipping on the first box. A box can hold one bag or two, and the second bag can have its own roast level and style, so a light single origin and a dark blend can arrive together, from two different Oregon roasters.
The roaster ships its own bag. Each bag leaves the Oregon roaster in its own packaging with our packing slip: who roasted it, where their shop is, their story and what to taste for. Neither wins for everyone: Trade fits someone who wants coffees from many U.S. roasters matched to their taste, and Atlas fits someone who wants one coffee from a different country each month.
Does Trade Coffee send Oregon roasters?
None of the Oregon roasters we list was named on the Trade pages we read on 2026-09-27. Every Multnomah box comes from an independent Oregon roaster.
Is Trade's bag the same size as yours?
