Two Stroke Coffee Co. is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in Portland. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The name comes from the two-stroke engine found in raw, stripped-down motorcycles, and the shop carries a motorcycle theme throughout. The company describes itself as a North Portland roaster with a moto cafe in the St. Johns neighborhood, and it sells bags and branded merchandise online. The current anaerobic coffee comes from La Bastilla Coffee Estates in Nicaragua, where the cherries were given added yeast and left in sealed tanks for a few days. The same farm grew an earlier customer favorite sold as Blueberry Candy.

Its house blend is named for Lombard Street, the St. Johns road where the cafe stands. Lombard Blend was the first blend the company made, pitched as an everyday cup with full body and gentle sweetness. The decaf comes from Colombia's Valle del Cauca, between the Andes and the Pacific. Cafes, restaurants and offices can stock the coffee through a wholesale program, with inquiries taken on the website.
