Cascadia Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in Portland. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Jason and Susan Thomas sign the company story. They roast in small batches and ship the coffee fresh to buyers' doors. Besides mail order, the company supplies cafes and restaurants and sells to grocers, co-ops and gift shops, with free local delivery for wholesale partners. Paradise Park, a washed Fair Trade coffee from Guatemala's Huehuetenango region, has stayed on the menu since the company began.
Cannonball is its dark roast, built from South and Central American and Ethiopian beans, and the shop says it uses the same high quality beans for dark roasts that other roasters might use to hide stale or low grade coffee. Its wholesale page cites more than eight years of running two cafes, experience it offers partners through staff training, menu help and drink recipes. Jason Thomas has written on the blog about a trip to Costa Rica to see the coffee of the Santa Elena Estate.

Roast levels run light, medium and dark. House blends include Cannonball, Paradise Park and Mountain Sunrise. Single origins on the list when we checked: Ethiopia Sibu Highlands Reserve. Decaf: Colombia Decaf. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.

The name points to the Cascade Mountains and the outdoor spirit of people who live in the Pacific Northwest. For its Bull Run barrel aged coffee, green beans rest in whiskey barrels from Bull Run Distillery in Portland before roasting, and each new barrel brings a different finish. Love Coffee is a partnership with Laundry Love: $3 from each 12 ounce bag and $5 from each 2.5 pound bag helps pay for washing clothes and bedding for low income families. The coffee pub in NW Portland has hosted holiday pop-up markets, according to the company blog.
