Intent Coffee Roasting is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in Wilsonville, founded in 2012. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Intent started in Portland in 2012, driven by a belief that coffee can change lives and by an interest in the developing world. A tenth of profits goes to community projects in coffee-growing regions and in the Chehalem Valley. Besides its Wilsonville spot, the coffee is served at Legacy Coffee and Books in Gresham and Refuge Coffee House in Portland.
Though it started in Portland, the store page says the company now roasts in the Chehalem Valley, and its Chehalem Valley Blend of Brazilian and Mexican coffee is named for that home.
What they roast
House blends include Chehalem Valley Blend, Stark Street Blend and House Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Guatemala Huehuetenango Primavera, Brazil Mantequieras de Minas, Ethiopia Guji Oromia, Mexico Sarchimor Reserva Selecta Natural and Pinot Noir barrel-aged Mexico Nayarit Natural. Decaf: Colombia Palo Rosa decaf. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.

Why buying from Intent Coffee Roasting matters here
A Pinot Noir barrel-aged coffee and a Chehalem Valley Blend tie the lineup to the valley where the company funds local projects. Its longest running coffee partnership is with JC Coffees, which has supplied the Brazil Mantequeiras de Minas lot from the start. Green coffee for the barrel aged release rests four to six weeks in a Pinot Noir barrel before roasting.
