Roasted by Mom Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in Hillsboro, founded in 2019. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Keri started with backyard home roasting and launched Elliott & Murrey Coffee Roasters in 2019. In 2023 the women-owned business dropped the Elliott & Murrey name and rebranded as Roasted by Mom Coffee. Drinks at the Hillsboro shop are made from beans roasted a few steps from the espresso machine.
Keri worked as a barista at Starbucks before she started roasting commercially, and her roasting began with sessions in a backyard. Everything served or sold is roasted to order on a drum roaster in the Hillsboro unit. The wholesale page calls the company women-owned and says it has won five awards. Its Mom's Mission program backs nonprofits working on gender equality and women's health in coffee regions, with Food4Farmers named as one of them.

Why buying from Roasted by Mom Coffee matters here
A portion of each purchase goes to programs for women coffee growers and producers at origin. The shop is in the Cornelius Pass Business Park, close to Orenco Station, the Hillsboro Hops ballpark and Intel's Ronler Acres campus. Keri Elliott shares the roasting space with Blind Coffee Roasters and Capitol Press Coffee, and has run a cafe there since 2020. Businesses around Portland can buy wholesale from 10 pounds a week, and the roaster adds barista training, consulting and private label bags for those accounts.
