Their story
Diverso sorts its menu into three moods: classic coffees with chocolate and nut notes, adventurous ones, and nerdy picks with experimental processing or rare varieties. Orders ship on Thursdays, and anything placed after Tuesday rolls into the following week's roast. The shop sells a weekly, biweekly and monthly Diverso Coffee Club in single and double bag sizes.
Diverso states its purpose as linking people of every background who take part in coffee, from the growers at origin to the person drinking the cup. The roasters suggest letting their coffee rest two to three weeks after roasting before brewing. The site also posts starting recipes for pour over and espresso, with tips on grinding finer or coarser.
What they roast
House blends include El Classic All-Year Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Altos de Chiapas (Mexico), La Morena (Guatemala), Katia Duke Red Honey (Honduras), Lahamenegu (Papua New Guinea) and Sebastian Ramirez Purple Fruits Co-ferment (Colombia). Why buying from Diverso Coffee Roasters matters here
El Classic, the year round blend, pairs washed coffees from Colombia and Peru and is meant for both drip and espresso. The Guatemalan La Morena lot comes from a program founded in 2016 to widen market access for women coffee growers. Diverso says this is its third year in a row buying from the Lahamenegu mill in Papua New Guinea.
