Flag & Wire Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in McMinnville. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The company roasts, brews and sells coffee from its downtown McMinnville location and runs wholesale and subscription programs. Its wholesale program supplies coffee to busy cafes, hotels, wineries, offices, pop-up shops and nonprofits in a steady stream. For roughly its first two years the company roasted only single origins, holding off on blends until it knew what it wanted one to do. Benevolence, a gentle cup with baker's chocolate notes, came out of that wait.
Road Trip is its darkest roast, taken to the edge of second crack from Brazilian, Mexican and Papua New Guinean beans. It began as a brewed coffee for restaurants and cafes. Life's Good Things sits at the light end of the blends and was built as a crisp Northwest style espresso that holds up in milk drinks. Its decaf comes from smallholders in Colombia's Valle del Cauca, and a recent single origin was an anaerobic natural Catuai from the family-run Finca Rosita in Caranavi, Bolivia.

Roast levels run light, medium and dark. House blends include Road Trip, Life's Good Things, Benevolence and Roaster's Choice.
