GoodBean Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in Jacksonville. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The roaster uses a fluidized bed of hot air and sells its coffee by the bag online, mixed or by subscription. According to its product notes, the Jacksonville blend has been on the menu since the company's early days and pours rich and full bodied. Blend labels name their origins. Tablerock mixes coffees from Ethiopia, Brazil, Guatemala, Tanzania and Sumatra, and Cowboy Roast pairs Guatemala with Sumatra for a smoky cup.
Four blends, among them Cowboy Roast, Mary's Morning and Organic Dark Mountain, also come as single-serve cups made for Keurig brewers. The Peruvian and Mexican Altura single origins are sold as fully certified organic, and the house decaf is a Swiss Water blend of Brazil and Colombia.
What they roast
Roast levels run medium and dark. House blends include Mary's Morning, Moka Java, Cowboy Roast, Dark Mountain, Midnight and French Roast. Single origins on the list when we checked: Organic Mexican Altura and Organic Peruvian. Decaf Premium Swiss Water; Decaf Moka Java; Decaf French Roast.
