Holderness Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in Corvallis, founded in 2012. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Paul Holderness Tostberg and Lisa Tostberg own the roastery. It grew out of Coffee Culture, which opened as a drive-thru window in Corvallis in 1993. To raise quality, the family began roasting its own coffee in 2012. Coffee Culture has since grown to four Corvallis locations. The company says Holderness is a family name tied to hard work and strength.
Every coffee is cupped before it ships, and the couple say they pick lots with distinct character and roast to bring that out. Wholesale partners such as cafes and restaurants get equipment and staff training along with the coffee. Online orders ship on weekdays, and the Brew and Renew subscription can be set to weekly or monthly delivery.
What they roast
House blends include Burt's Blend and Stick House Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Guatemala Santa Rosa and Mexico San Cristobal Nayarit. Espresso: The Adventurer Espresso Blend.
