Their story

At the start of 2025 the company took over the Cape Foulweather Coffee and Mother Kraken Coffee brands along with their roastery. Its roastery has since moved to a new site in Otis, and the company says coffee is roasted in house every day. The family behind it came to the Oregon Coast on a 2017 trip and stayed, bringing backgrounds in graphic design and production; the coffee company grew out of several local businesses they started.

Son Daniel does the roasting after training with industry mentors, daughter Lila runs daily cafe operations, and roasting first took place inside the original shop. The Cape Foulweather purchase in January 2025 brought a roaster with more than two decades of history on the coast, and two more shops opened soon after. Wholesale accounts can get custom blends and labels, weekly delivery, and equipment as the company is a dealer for Rancilio espresso machines and Moccamaster brewers.
