RayJen Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in Bandon, founded in 1995. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Ray and Jen Brongil started the roastery in 1995, and their daughter Netty Taylor took it over in April 2019 after years of roasting beside them. Netty trained at the Diedrich roasting school in Idaho. The company holds Oregon Tilth organic and Rainforest Alliance certifications and roasts each order when it comes in. RayJen says it appeared on the Fox Business Network program Manufacturing Marvels, a line it puts at the top of its homepage.
Most orders are roasted and processed within 48 hours of purchase. Shipping is offered inside the United States only. The regular espresso blend mixes African, Southeast Asian, Central and South American coffees, while the French Roast is a dark blend of Central and South American beans. Its organic Colombian Kachalu comes from Santander, grown between 1,200 and 1,750 meters, washed and sun dried, and roasted to a medium level.
Netty had been roasting beside her parents for more than 16 years before she bought the business.

Roast levels run Organic French Roast and French Roast (dark). House blends include Organic Breakfast Blend and Beachcomber Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Organic Colombian Kachalu, Organic Peru, Organic Sumatra, Organic Mexico, Sumatra Mandheling, Guatemala Huehuetenango and Colombian Huila Supremo. Espresso: Espresso Blend (African, Southeast Asian, Central and South American); Decaf Espresso Blend. Decaf: Decaf Organic Peru, Decaf Beachcomber Blend and Decaf Espresso Blend, all Swiss Water.
