Rogue Valley Roasting Company is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in Ashland. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Known locally as RoCo, the coffeehouse has operated in Ashland for close to three decades, and its organic coffee is roasted on the premises. RoCo is now part of the Ashland Food Co-op, which plans more wholesale coffee and RoCo coffee in the Co-op store. Beyond coffee, the shop pours craft beer, wine and cocktails and serves locally made ice cream and pastries.
Wine and beer at the bar come from Pacific Northwest producers, and since joining the co-op the shop says it still uses organic certified ingredients. Espresso drinks, lattes and drip coffee all use the organic beans roasted on site, and kombucha is poured on tap beside rotating craft beers.

Why buying from Rogue Valley Roasting Company matters here
The cafe sits in Ashland's Railroad District and buys its pastries from small local bakeries. Hours are the same every day, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and guests can sit indoors, on a shaded patio or around an outdoor fire pit. The owners say the East Main Street location is staying put and that they are planning community events and classes there. Requests for sponsorships and donations now go through the Ashland Food Co-op rather than the cafe itself.
Every bag bought from a Ashland roaster pays roasting and cafe wages in Oregon, and the coffee reaches you days after roasting instead of months. That is the reason the club exists. Why local roasters matter.
