Royal Coffee Roasting is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in Central Point. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Founder and CEO Mike Goergen visits growing regions, including Guatemala, to buy coffee at the source. The company roasts in its own facilities and also runs coffee shops, and its motto is "Act Noble. Live Royal." Jackpot, a medium blend of Colombia, Ethiopia and Brazil, is the house mainstay and is pulled as the espresso in the company's coffee shops; a decaf version is also sold.
Space Station comes from the El Bombo cooperative, 125 small farms in the highlands between the Dona Juana and Galeras volcanoes; the co-op was set up in 2016. Mexican Morning is grown on the slopes beneath Popocatepetl, in the Cuetlaxcoapan valley of Puebla state. Every retail coffee is sold as organic and Fair Trade, and online orders ship only within the United States after one to two business days of processing.
