Thump Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Oregon: an independent roaster based in Bend. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Thump is a Bend coffee company with its own roastery, an in-house bakery and several cafes. It says its aim from the start has been a better cup and a better experience, with the cafes serving as places where people gather and recharge. For sourcing, Thump works with people on the ground in growing regions who look for coffees that fit its flavor profile. The samples are cupped blind, with no names, prices or stories attached, before anything is bought. Chosen coffees are shipped to the roastery in Bend, where the team builds a roast profile for each origin meant to highlight its character. The company says it wants lasting partnerships with farmers and producers.
Its line runs from always-available flagship coffees to limited edition single origins and a Signature Series, plus instant coffee made with its own brewing process. All of its baked goods are made in-house at the York cafe. Thump also runs a cafe inside the new Central Library at Stevens Ranch on Bend's east side. The Source Weekly voted Thump Best Coffee Shop.
What they roast
House blends include North Fork, South Fork and Storm King. Single origins on the list when we checked: Rwanda. Tiddly Winks Decaf; the method is not stated. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-27.

Thump funds Thump Lacrosse, a Central Oregon off-season club lacrosse program with more than 220 players in men's and women's leagues. Its cafes host local running groups: the Trail Kooks group run starts from the York cafe, and CORK's Saturday long runs start and finish at the Grove cafe. It runs a summer music series with local artists, sponsors community events and fundraisers, and has its name on outfield signs around Bend. The Central Library cafe sits on the main floor of the Deschutes Public Library's new Central Library, and you do not need a library card to stop in for coffee.
