The best holiday coffee gift from an Oregon roaster matches a moment in the season: a dark roast or a decaf for after a long dinner, a breakfast blend for a house full of guests, a winter-named bag for the stocking, or a tasting room visit for the family member home from out of state. Below are the coffees Oregon roasters we list sold on their own pages when we checked on 2026-09-27. We list no prices, because they are the roaster's to set.

Bags that sound like winter

Some gifts are chosen by the name on the bag, and a few Oregon roasters have named coffees for cold weather.

• Trailhead in Portland sells a Winter Espresso, roasted semi-dark, plus coffees called Snowdrop and Campfire, the last its dark roast. Every Trailhead label is hand drawn or hand painted, so the bag looks like a present before you wrap it.
• Dapper & Wise in Hillsboro calls its darkest roast Bonfire.
• Roseline sells a blend called Hayride alongside Oro, which it describes as chocolate, caramel and toasted nut. Oro is the one to wrap for someone who takes dessert seriously.
• Heart sells the Stereo Seasonal Blend. Heart buys each coffee seasonally, at its peak, so a seasonal blend fits a seasonal gift.
• Thump in Bend runs a Limited Edition and a Signature Series, a good fit for the Bend person who has already tried the everyday line.

For the holiday table

A long dinner ends with coffee, and the host will want something dark for the dessert course and something decaf for the guests who want to sleep.

Dark roasts for dessert

Nossa Familia in Portland sells Teodoro's Italian Roast and Mathilde's French Roast. Noble in Ashland roasts Daydream, a darkly roasted blend. Wandering Goat in Eugene has one called Heart of Darkness, organic like everything it roasts.

Decaf for after dinner

In the United States, decaf must have at least 97% of its caffeine removed, according to Wikipedia's decaffeination article, so it suits the last cup of a late night. Water Avenue sells Velvet Falls, a water processed decaf version of its Bull Run blend. Noble sells a Decaf World Tour espresso blend, also water processed, for the house with an espresso machine. Caravan in Newberg sells two decaf blends, Morning Glory Decaf and Northstar Decaf. Sleepy Monk in Cannon Beach roasts a decaf espresso blend. Give the host one dark bag and one decaf and the whole table is covered.

For the house full of guests

The morning after a holiday dinner needs a pot of something easy to like. Oregon roasters have named coffees for exactly that hour:

• Nossa Familia's Augusta's Organic Breakfast.
• Trailhead's Breakfast in Bed.
• Portland Coffee Roasters' Morning blend.
• Sisters Coffee's High Desert Sunrise.
• Wandering Goat's One Eye Open, for the guest who needs a reason to get up.

For the relative who stays through New Year, Portland Coffee Roasters released an Anniversary Roast for its 30th year, and that roast supports its projects at origin and in Portland, such as clean water access, daycare and food security. Caravan also sells Basecamp in single-serve steeped packets, which travel home in a coat pocket.

For a crowd, Dapper & Wise sells canned coffee, easy to hand out at a party.

A holiday outing instead of a bag

When family comes home for the holidays, a morning out makes a good gift. Caravan's tasting room at 2750 E Ninth St in Newberg serves coffee flights, including a traditional espresso flight, and a Northwest Pine Latte made with a house syrup of pine, juniper and vanilla. It was open Monday to Saturday when we checked. In Bend, Lone Pine's downtown cafe runs evening aperitif hours on Friday and Saturday, with a small list of natural wines, beers and ciders. In Portland, Heart's two cafes have no WiFi on purpose, which makes them a good place to sit with someone you have not seen all year.
