The best Oregon gifts for a coffee drinker come straight from Oregon roasters: a bag with a story, a class at the roastery, a tasting room visit, or a subscription that keeps coming. This guide lists what the state's independent roasters sell that works as a present, grouped by town. Everything here was checked on the roaster's own pages on 2026-09-27. We list no prices, because they change and they are the roaster's to set, so check with the roaster before you buy.
None of these roasters paid to be here, and a mention does not mean a roaster is part of our club. They are local favorites. Buying a gift from one of them puts money into an Oregon business that roasts, packs and pours in the town named next to it. Portland
Portland has the deepest bench, so start here for someone who lives in the city or misses it.
A bag with a Portland name on it
Several Portland roasters name coffees after the city itself, which makes a bag a good gift for someone who left. Case Study sells the Burnside Blend, named for the street that divides north and south Portland. Portland Coffee Roasters sells Goose Hollow, named for the neighborhood, and OPBEANS, which sends $1 from each bag to Oregon Public Broadcasting. In 2024 it also made the Dillon T. Pickle Blend with the Portland Pickles baseball team. Water Avenue pitches its Boxcar blend as a toast to the Central Eastside.
Coffee that gives something back
Nossa Familia sells giveback coffees: Full Cycle has sent 50 cents a bag to bicycle nonprofits since 2015, and Festa is its holiday blend. Water Avenue makes Pacific Flyway, a Bird Friendly certified coffee with Bird Alliance of Oregon, and Canoe with The Freshwater Trust, which suits someone who spends weekends on the river.
Something to open all year
Water Avenue sells gift subscriptions alongside its auto-renew ones. Roseline sells a single origin sampler of four 6 oz bags and subscriptions to Oro, Cartwheel, Catapult and Decaf. Heart has a sample pack and a Roasters Choice subscription. Trailhead sells a sample bag, and its hand painted labels, some by Portland artist Penelope Benavidez, make the bag itself worth keeping.
A class or a cafe visit
Coava runs weekend classes at its Southeast Portland roastery: cuppings, espresso, milk steaming and pour-over. That is a present for the person who just bought an espresso machine. Sterling sells gift cards you can pick up at its cafe on NW 21st Ave, and Roseline's shop has a camp cup drawn by one of its own artists from the Montgomery Park cafe.
Hillsboro, Newberg and Eugene
Dapper & Wise in downtown Hillsboro sells a Coffee World Tour gift box and a tasting box, plus Roaster's Choice and gift subscriptions. Its sister cafe's Insomnia House Chai comes by subscription too, for the tea drinker in the family. The roastery on E Main St invites people to stop by.
In Newberg, Caravan has a tasting room with coffee flights, guided tastings and tours, pitched as a way to see Oregon wine country through coffee. It makes a good outing to give, paired with a winery day. Its 2026 Whiskey Barrel-Aged Coffee is the bag for the whiskey drinker, and its Roaster's Choice Coffee Club offers local pickup.
In Eugene, Wandering Goat roasts every coffee certified organic through Oregon Tilth and sells subscriptions, including a Roaster's Choice. Customers pick up online orders at the Madison St cafe, so a local can collect a bag on the way to see someone.
Bend and Sisters
Sisters Coffee sells a Three Sisters Bundle, and its Friends of the Children Blend has sent $2 a bag to the youth mentoring nonprofit since 2024. Black Butte Gold is its dark, caramelized blend, and Jack Creek Cold Brew is a roast made for cold brew. It offers monthly and prepaid subscriptions.
In Bend, Backporch sells instant coffee and pour-over packs, which fit a stocking or a trail pack, and subscriptions from its flagship coffees to its Showcase Series micro lots. Thump sells instant coffee too, plus Storm King and single origin subscriptions. Lone Pine offers bi-weekly and monthly subscriptions, and its Tin Pan Alley Blend shares a name with the downtown alley where the company opened in 2009.
Ashland and the coast
Noble in Ashland runs a four class coffee series every month at its coffeehouse in the Railroad District, from seed to cup through latte art. For someone in the Rogue Valley, a seat in that series beats another mug. Noble also sells subscriptions and Noble Tonic, a bottled drink in six packs.
On the coast, Sleepy Monk in Cannon Beach sells blends with coast names, Oregon Fog and Cannon Beach Brackish Brew, a seasonal Java Jingle blend, and a hoodie printed by a local screen printer. Its Cannon Beach coffee shop has closed, so order online. For anyone who spent summers on that stretch of beach, a bag of Rusty Nail, on the menu since the shop first opened, is the gift.
